Features
Kerabit roofing shingles utilizes innovative technology to improve shingles performance with less weight. In old-fashioned shingles sand is used on the back side of the product simply for the productional reasons. Kerabit shingles is produced without sand to avoid any purposeless weight to the products. Kerabit shingles utilizes the advances of HDPE film on back side. The HDPE film gives even better water pressure durability and nail shank water resistance. In addition all Kerabit roofing shingles is made of modified SBS bitumen which gives them the superior durability and flexibility. All Kerabit shingles are made of SBS bitumen and firm fibreglass felt. On the top slate or mineral granules gives protections against weather conditions. Back side of the Kerabit shingles is a combinations of elastomer bitumen which connects the shingles tightly to others and HDPE film instead of sand.
Instructions of use
Kerabit roofing shingles are lightweight and easy to work with. Shingles can be installed on roofs with a slope of 1:5 (12º) or steeper. The material can be laid on a substrate of OSB-3, plywood or rough and grooved boards. The use of underlayment (Kerabit 2200 UB or Kerabit 2000 UB) is recommended and it will also smooth minor irregularities and unevenness of the substrate. Storage
In storage the shingles must be protected from rain and sunshine. Dont't put a pallet on top of another.
Uses
Underlay membrane (Kerabit 2200 UB) is recommended as the underlay material for the roofing shingles; the minimum inclination of the roof is 1:5. Special shingles and strips are available for cornices, ridges and other special uses.
